At Oxford Brookes University, Eric is Senior Lecturer in American Literature in the Department of English and Modern Languages. Eric’s research focuses on avant-garde writing and editing, modernist poetics and place, and literature and technology. More recently, he has been investigating technicities of augmentation in art and culture and the ways in which avant-garde practice can be applied to Augmented Reality (AR) environments. He is President of the William Carlos Williams Society and founder of the Avant-Gardes and Speculative Technology (AGAST) Project, which re-imagines the inventions of experimental twentieth-century writers and artists using AR.
