Performance Capture Research Workshop (aka ‘HOLODECK’)

The Performance Capture Research Workshop brings together research in the School of Arts (John Twycross) and the School of Engineering, Math, and Computing (Dr Fridolin Wild) in an interdisciplinary project. Existing competence in performance augmentation and media production will allow to build a capturing solution for volumetric video. The development of this key enabling technology allows for the production of holographic simulations (patient simulations, holographic tutors, documentary, and dramatic performances) as well as Virtual Reality and film 3D characters.
